Forwarding email

You might not want to use the @inbox.deflekt.ai address for your customers. In that case you can set up a forwarding address. How to do this differs per email provider, here's a list of common providers and how to set up forwarding.

Google Workspace Instructions
Zoho Workplace Instructions

Make sure you create a new inbox first and then setup forwarding for that inbox. Often you can select whether you want to keep the original message on the server. Enable that feature, that way you can always login and check messages to make sure nothing doesn't make it to Deflekt.ai. Once your confident, you can disable it so this inbox doesn't run full.

Now again, you can do some more testing but this time with the new forwarding address.

If all is looking good, you'll need to define a strategy on how to implement this new AI powered email into your product or service. Here's a couple of strategies, but it's up to you to see what works:

  • Start small: replace the address on your contact or "Have questions?" page with this new address.
  • Start transparent: everywhere you list your email, not also list this new address. You can add response times to both addresses and let the customer choose (ie. "replies within minutes" vs "replies within 2 days").
  • Go all in: replace the address everywhere and force people through the AI inbox first. If that doesn't answer their question and they reply it will end up in the human inbox.
